Tunnel of Others

I’m sure the Roppongi area will be packed on Art Night. I myself don’t like crowds, or rather I don’t like dismissing multitudes of people as ‘crowds’ because each person still looks and acts different. Yet despite myself here I am also in a crowd, acting like ‘me’ even as I become one of the ‘crowd.’ What a strange state of affairs! I really have to change this. I made this installation to create a situation where people pass by each other while somebody else watches.

Murakami Satoshi

Born in 1988, Tokyo. Graduated from Musashino Art University. As his current project, he carries a house made by Styrofoam on his shoulder, lives a nomadic life for several weeks sleeping in the house.
